Hailing from the vibrant music scene of Venezuela, Anfitrite delivers a sonic onslaught that resonates with the passion and intensity of their Latin roots. With thunderous rhythms, searing guitar solos, and ethereal vocals, Anfitrite invites listeners on a journey through the depths of emotion and the expanse of musical imagination.

Biography

Originating from Venezuela, Anfitrite emerges as a symphonic gothic metal endeavor, conceived in 2012 by Sting Weiss (Lord Weiss), a multifaceted keyboardist, arranger, and composer, with the drummer Ana Alvarez, in the north of Barquisimeto, Lara State (Venezuela) after the dissolution of Tatarimokke, an avant-garde gothic metal project led by Sting Weiss.

The band chooses the graceful moniker "Anfitrite" as a tribute to the serene sea goddess from Greek mythology. Following numerous lineup adjustments, they successfully produce their debut tracks, releasing them as an album via Bandcamp in October 2014. Since then, Anfitrite has garnered a significant following, drawing fans from across the globe.

Notably, Sting Weiss has collaborated with esteemed musicians from both the Venezuelan and international metal circuits, including luminaries such as Itea Benedicto, renowned as the former vocalist of Niobeth, alongside members of MortuoriuM, as well as past contributors from Spanish acts Dark Moor and Retribution.

In 2014, they successfully launched their debut album digitally on the Bandcamp platform. Since then, they've risen to prominence as one of Venezuela's most influential bands within their genre, garnering recognition on a global scale.

Fast forward two years, and the majority of the band members have parted ways with the project, citing personal and professional obligations. Amidst the changes, Sting Weiss remains the sole driving force behind the band. Determined to keep the music alive, Weiss takes a bold step, reshaping the band into a dynamic studio project that welcomes collaborations with talented musicians from around the globe, embracing the boundless opportunities of online connectivity.

In mid-2017, the band unveiled "Beyond Evolution" in digital format, an EP featuring the final two tracks recorded prior to the departure of former band members. Alongside these, fans could access a range of extras, all conveniently hosted on the band's website. Additionally, the band treated listeners to a remastered version of their debut album, also available digitally.

In 2018, Sting Weiss unveils a significant announcement, revealing his collaboration with guest musicians on a forthcoming album. Promising a meticulously crafted, explosive, and harmonious style infused with stunning orchestral arrangements, expectations soar for a musical production poised to surpass the band's previous endeavors.

Projects

In 2022, the band is preparing its third musical project, which is released under the title "Helen of Troy" in physical and digital formats, including CDs and USB drives, in a limited edition. This release marks the debut production from the band's revamped lineup, with former Hekla member Ysis Vivas taking the helm as lead vocalist. She is joined by Sting Weiss, contributing on keyboards, orchestration and guttural vocals, TJ Richardson of Salvation's End on guitars and Jose Mendoza, of Jihad fame, on bass.

However, to finish their recording, they needed the help of anyone willing to offer a hand. This need arises from the deep political, economic, and social turmoil currently affecting Venezuela, making it extremely difficult to complete the EP independently. Consequently, "they chose to start a global crowdfunding initiative, with the aim of incentivizing donors by providing attractive rewards corresponding to their generous contributions.
