Biography

Marcus, born in 1995 in the frigid reaches of northern Sweden, specifically Boden, embarked on his musical odyssey in 2014 when he initiated his personal endeavor, "Ethereal Dawn". Armed with his guitar and fueled by a passion for singing, Marcus ushered in a new chapter in his musical voyage. Taking on the roles of composer, instrumentalist, and vocalist, he laid the groundwork for what would eventually blossom into "Ethereal Dawn".

For his first album release, "The Moonlight Of Gloom", he had the privilege of working with Tommy Johansson from Sabaton/Majestica, who served as both producer and provided backing vocals and bass guitar support.

Among notable figures like Fabio Lione of Rhapsody Of Fire/Angra and Petr Elfimov of Eurovision fame, two iconic voices lent their talent to two tracks. Most recently, Minniva Borresen, the Norwegian singer and YouTuber, and Ivan Giannini joined forces on his earlier single "Through Darkness, Shine Your Light."

Ethereal Dawn draws inspiration from bands like Rhapsody Of Fire and Sonata Arctica, yet their primary influence lies in cinematic music, shaping their own unique sound.

Projects

Marcus Ek's last single, "The King Of The Sea", embarks listeners on a thrilling voyage of piracy! Follow the captain as he navigates uncharted waters in pursuit of the legendary artifact "Winterheart". However, amidst the murky depths, a malevolent mermaid ensnares the captain with her enchanting allure, leading to his eternal transformation into "The King Of The Sea".
